途中、三菱一号館広場にて、スーツの色別でチームをシャッフル。そうすると、スーツの色のスクランブルに目を奪われていた前半とは異なり、参加者たちがシャツやタイ、小物使いでも装いをブラッシュアップしているところが浮き立って見えてくる。クラシックを極めている人、アンダーステイトメントな人、バランスよく春らしさを魅せる人……。『礼節』『品格』『ファッション』『伝統』『お洒落着』——背広やスーツが連想させるこれらの言葉が、洗練された形で表現され、この日の丸の内仲通りに並んでいた。

背広散歩を終えた参加者たちが盛り上がった、熱気溢れる宴

東京駅前広場で参加者全員による記念撮影を経て背広散歩は終了、アフターパーティーへ。高田朋佳さん〈WEARLNESS・代表〉の開会挨拶、稲葉智大さん〈下２人組の写真左／伊勢丹新宿店・メンズテーラードクロージングバイヤー〉と宮本雄弘さん〈同右／リング東京・バイヤー〉による司会など、「背広散歩」創設メンバーによってパーティーは次第に盛り上がっていく。旧交を温めたり今後の親交を深めたり、スーツ好きによる楽しい歓談の時間が過ぎる（このとき筆者と同じ高校の2学年後輩と初対面！　スーツの縁が繋いだ奇跡に感動）。

そして弊誌「MEN’S EX」と雑誌「THE RAKE」が参加者より選出するベストコーディネート賞の授賞イベントもあり、さらなる熱気に。当然だが、スーツ好きの参加者全員が素敵な装いのため、両誌とも受賞者選定は大変難しいものだった。

弊誌は、“丸の内”というビジネス街のイメージに合う「ネイビースーツ」の装いで参加された関信彦さん〈会社員〉を選出。春らしい清潔感がある整った装いの中で、スーツの色味や靴で遊び心やヌケ感を演出するそのサジ加減に脱帽。編集長・金森より、MEN‘S EX最新号と賞品贈呈をさせていただいた。

最後に、背広散歩創設メンバーの安武俊宏さん〈上写真左／ビームス・オウンドメディアマネージャー〉とTokyo Creative Salon 丸の内ディレクターの小沢宏さん〈上写真右／スタイリスト〉による総括を経て、福島“ティアモ”雄介さん〈下写真／ファッションディレクター〉による閉会のご挨拶でイベントは大団円を迎えた。背広散歩の焼き印が施された枡がお土産として配られ、参加者たちは皆この日の晴れた空のような笑顔で帰路についた。

“スーツが好き”という想いから始まり、いまや日本各地から参加者が集うイベントとなった背広散歩。初参加の方も多く、先日４月５日(土)に開催された「第６回・大阪編」も全90名のうち約半数が初参加だったとのこと。そして来る5月31日(土)には海を越え、「第７回・韓国編」を予定しているという。６名から始まったスーツ好きの輪は確実に広がっている。
