注目のサスペンションは未体験のフラットさ

ポルシェパナメーラ — パフォーマンスフラッグシップとなるパナメーラターボ E-ハイブリッド。519ps/770N･mの4L V8ターボと190ps/450N･mのモーターを組み合わせる。

午後のセッションでは、セビリアの市街地から西へ約50kmのところにあるモンテブランコサーキットにて、最上位グレードとなるプラグインハイブリッドモデルの「ターボE-ハイブリッド」に試乗した。総出力は680ps、トルクは930Nmを発揮。0→100km/h加速3.2秒というスペックはまさにスーパーカーだ。ちなみにポルシェはこの新型パナメーラからターボモデルのクレストを従来のゴールドからメタリックグレーに変更する。その名はTurbonite（ターボナイト）。接尾語の「ite」は石の意味だ。クレジットカードのようにゴールドよりプラチナといった趣だ。

ターボモデルのエンブレムやロゴにはTurbonite（ターボナイト）が用いられている。

サーキットでは、その速さはもちろんだが、E-ハイブリッドモデルにのみオプション設定される「ポルシェアクティブライドサスペンション」の体験に重点が置かれた。これは新開発のアクティブショックアブソーバーに、前後アクスルのそれぞれに配置された電動式の油圧ポンプを接続したもので、ボディの動きに応じてダンパー内に瞬時に正確なオイル流量を発生させる。結果として、従来モデルに備わっているスタビライザーをなくして、4輪を独立して制御することが可能になった。

これによって何が起こるのかといえば、加速時に車体前方が浮き上がるフロントリフトや逆にブレーキング時に前方が沈みこむノーズダイブをなくし、そしてコーナリング時にはまるでバイクが内側に倒れ込むように内輪側を沈みこませ、外輪側をもちあげるアクティブチルトコントロールまでを駆使して常にボディを水平に保つ。パイロンスラロームなども試したが、これまで味わったことのない未体験のフラットさだった。新世代の“魔法のじゅうたん”といえるかもしれない。

この複雑なサスペンションシステムの製作意図を開発者にたずねてみたところ、これまで以上にもっと快適性を上げたかったという。そして、新型パナメーラは、単なるグランドツーリングカーではなく、最新技術をもってこれまでにないコンフォート性とスポーツ性とを両立させた、“ラグジュアリースポーツカー”なのですと話していたのが印象的だった。
