フランス車好きの視点で見ると足はもうちょっとソフトでもよかったと感じるが、その先入観のない人からすれば十分快適だし、直進安定性とオンザレール感覚の強いフットワークは典型的なプジョー流。余裕の動力性能をもつ3気筒ターボエンジンと相まって、街中からロングドライブまでシーンを問わず使い倒せる魅力たっぷりのコンパクトカーだ。

長距離ドライブの疲労を左右するのは乗り心地のよさやシートの出来栄えだが、これらはプジョーが得意とするところ。シートの作りが素晴らしく、乗り心地がソフトなためドライブのお供として208 GTライン（2021年3月時点で限定車のみ販売）は非常に優秀。1.2ℓという排気量の小ささ、全長4095mmのコンパクトボディは旅のパートナーとして不安かもしれないが、パワフルなエンジン特性、荷室を有効に使えるハッチバックスタイルでそのあたりもカバーしている。
