今回は九十九里浜を起点に南下し、美しい海を求めてグルッと房総半島を反時計まわりに館山エリアまで巡ってみる。朝日から夕日まで確認してみた結果、強く推したいのは鵜原、鴨川エリア。近くに寄って見ると透明度がとにかく高く、天候に恵まれた撮影日には美しい青い海を拝むこともできた。

季節によって太陽の位置や角度が違うので一概には言えないが、朝日なら九十九里、夕景なら館山も素晴らしい。お薦めは今回の208 GTラインのような走りが楽しめるスポーツモデルか、長距離ドライブが苦にならないGTモデルでまる一日かけてすべてを眺めてまわることだ。

しかし、なかなかハードな旅になるので、途中で一泊するか、日帰りなら真っ直ぐ勝浦エリアを目指すのがいいだろう。

移動時間は東京都内から九十九里浜まで約1.5時間。九十九里浜から鵜原までは1時間、鵜原から館山エリアまでが1時間少々。海水浴場が多いため、食事処や駐車場に困ることがないのも嬉しい点だ。

一部の好事家が乗るクルマ、という表現はもはや現代のフランス車にはあてはまらない。なかでもプジョー 208 GTラインは、フランス車はもちろん輸入車を買ったことすらない人たちから強い支持を受け、在庫不足に陥るほどの人気だ。
