国内メーカーの参加により精度の高い独自構造が実現
日本が誇る独立時計師のひとり、浅岡肇。もともとプロダクトデザイナーだった浅岡は、腕時計のデザインを手がけたことをきっかけに独学で時計作りを習得し、2009年に日本初の高難度なトゥールビヨン機構を搭載した「トゥールビヨン#1」を発表。その後、世界でも一握りの者しか門をくぐることが許されないアカデミー（AHCI）の会員となり、バーゼルデビューも果たした。ʼ14年発表の「プロジェクトT トゥールビヨン」は、それに続く2本目のトゥールビヨンである。
本作は、航空・宇宙産業に携わる「由紀精密」、世界最高峰の工具メーカー「OSG」などの日本企業の協力のもとに製作された。2社はおもにケースやムーブメントパーツの切削・加工、工具の提供などで協力している。世界的に評価の高い日本企業の参加もあり、搭載ムーブメントはメンテナンス性の高いデタッチャブル構造が実現。これは香箱や巻き上げ機構と、トゥールビヨンキャリッジを含む調速機構が分離可能な構造であり、整備・調整がしやすくなるとともに、より精密なキャリッジの製造に貢献する。
また、ムーブメントの軸受けの一部に、通常使用するルビーではなく13個のボールベアリングを配備するのも特徴。とくにキャリッジの軸受けのボールベアリングは世界最小で、これらの採用によって耐久性や耐衝撃性が格段に向上する。さらに、ムーブメントの地板にはジャーマンシルバーを採用。“洋銀”とも呼ばれるこの素材は、グラスヒュッテ時計に代表されるドイツ製の高級品に多く見られるが、日本製モデルにはほとんど使われてこなかった。この地板にコート・ド・ジュネーブ装飾を施す工具もOSGによって提供されたものである。
地板には“HAJIME ASAOKA”の名とともに“OSG CORPORATION”“YUKI PRECISION”の刻印が。そして横には“MADE IN JAPAN”としっかり刻まれている。これは紛うことなき日本のトゥールビヨンなのだ。
