長年デザイナーとして商品開発に携わり、実際に自分の目で見たり、手で触ったり、耳を傾けることを大切にしてきた清本さん。社長となった今も全国20ヶ所のショールームをはじめ国内外の出張を精力的にこなしている。「もともと個室でなく周りに人がいるほうが仕事をしやすいのですが各地を回る中それが功を奏しています」。

移動の車内で集中的に仕事に当たるだけでなく、ショールームでの執務ぶりがユニーク。ゲストが見学するキッチンスペースの一隅でさりげなく仕事を行うという。

「ショールームにいるとお客様やスタッフの声が直に入ってくるため、次に活かしやすい。特に、天板の高いキッチンカウンターで仕事をすると、背筋が伸び、気軽に動き回れ、考え方もアクティブになる。子どもにリビングやキッチンで勉強をさせると学力が伸びるという話を聞いたことがありますが、実感しますね」。仕事哲学も執務スタイルもオープンな経営者から学ぶものは多い。
