白馬でアウトドアショップ巡り！

白馬村にはそのイメージに違わず、アウトドアショップがたくさんある。好日山荘、パタゴニア、そしてノース・フェイス。意外に思われるかもしれないが、実はボク、若い頃はアウトドア派だった。「岳」という名前を見てもわかるように父が山男。その影響もあり、学生時代はバックパックにシュラフを入れて山へ行っていたし、着ているモノもアウトドアブランドばかりだった。

なので昔からノース・フェイスは愛用しており、白馬にある「THE NORTH FACE GRAVITY」を訪れるのも楽しみだった。ここは北海道・ニセコに次ぐ新業態の2番目のショップ。アメリカ・カリフォルニアにある国立公園のビジターセンターをイメージしたという同店は、木をふんだんに使用した造りが落ち着く。入ってすぐ、学生の頃、ヨセミテまで行った時のことを思い出した。

4月には飛ぶ鳥を落とす勢いの「スノーピーク」もショップをオープンさせることが決まっている。自然豊かな白馬に来てアウトドアショップ巡りというのもおもしろい。ちなみにボクはなるべく旅先で身につけるモノを買うことにしている。後日、普段の生活に戻った時にそれを着ると旅先での思い出がよみがえってくるのが好きだから。と、理由がついたとこで、写真の「HAKUBA SOUVENIR HOODIE」のネイビーを購入。袖口の「HKB」のプリントが特に気に入った。インナーにも着られるようにとややスリムなフィットなので、あえてXLをチョイス。静電ケア設計が施されていて東京に戻ってからも重宝している。
