For a cothes lover living in the 21st century, especially for somebody like me who has the privilege to go back and forth Japan and Korea and experience the two different tailoring styles at the same time is the upmost pleasure. In terms of style, bespoke techniques, and craftsmanship Japan has always been ahead of the game. Korean Neapolitan style has followed the Japanese footsteps while adding different interpretation and character creating their own unique style. I’d like to take this opportunity to recommend readers to experience these two different styles while enjoying the process of ordering your own suit.

The grey VBC Flannel suit I wore for the Flannel Night Soul Party held in Cheongdam was a superb choice. The mid grey flannel enabled me to style any color or item like a blank white canvas. The beautiful Neapolitan silhouette and the delicate stitches and the fine construction of the garment added sharpness and liveliness to the thick flannel. When taking pictures next to the garments on display by other sartorias, I noticed my Chiccio suit had a strong presence while enhancing those garments. It was a great choice for a Master of Ceremony to host the wonderful party.
待ちくたびれる過程を経てこそ楽しめる「サルトリア チッチオ」のスーツは、待つに値します。黙々と修道士のように採寸し、仮縫いを行う上木氏、真摯に仕立てる中でも茶目っ気たっぷりの目つきを垣間見せる彼、「チッチオ」の名をかけている、この時代の幸せな職人を思い浮かべながら、この文章を締めくくりたいと思います。いつか将来には「チッチオ」の派手なツイードジャケットやクールな夏用スーツを作ることも楽しみにしています。
Sartoria Ciccio’s suit that can be enjoyed as a result of the long tailoring process is well worth the wait. I would like to conclude by envisioning Ueki san, who conducts his fitting without any chatter like a monk. The playful glimps he occasionally shows amidst his earnest tailoring process. A man who is fortunate to be an artisan in this era. Once day, I look forward to commissioning a colorful tweed jacket and a cool suit for the summer.
