鴨志田さんとの思い出の場所、ユナイテッドアローズ 原宿本店へ
After browsing at the Roppongi store, I went back to the Harajuku store, where I went to the second floor to try on a kimono which Kamoshita aniki chose for me. It looked very good on me, and while I am writing this article, I somehow regret not taking that Kimono. Sooner or later, upon revisiting Tokyo, I may try one on again in case I need it for a special occasion.
六本木ヒルズ店をチェックした後、私たちはUA BARに行くために原宿に戻ってきました。フラッグシップ・ストアの2階の、橋で繋がれた小さなコーナーには、夏用の浴衣が並んでいました。鴨志田アニキは、私に浴衣を選んで羽織らせてくれました。それは私にとてもよく似合って、この記事を書いている今も、「ああ、あの浴衣を買ってくればよかったなあ」と少し後悔しています。来年、夏に東京をまた訪れた際には、もう一度浴衣を試着してみたいと思います。
After the happy shopping, we went to my favorite oasis in Harajuku for lunch, the United Arrows bar. The UA bar has a long history of offering western culture and cuisine alongside local food. As a result, the dining culture at the UA bar has reached a very high level. The Napolitan spaghetti is a nice example, and could be considered a perfect meal. Of course it’s not an elaborate or formal food, but a nice cheesy mixture of western ingredients such as spaghetti, catchup and franks to make an elementary school student happy. This nostalgic dish brought back fond boyhood memories and made me smile, but of course has no relationship to the Italian city of Naples.
楽しいショッピングの後は、私にとってのオアシス、原宿のUA BARにランチを食べに移動しました。UA BARは、オープン以来、洋風メニューを日本のローカルフードに盛り込むスタイルをとってきました。その結果、UA BARでのダイニングカルチャーは、とてもハイレベルなものになりました。「焼きナポリタン」というナポリタンスパゲッティがその好例で、これは本当に美味しかったです。もちろん、ナポリのナポリスパゲッティとも違うし、フォーマルなレストランの手の込んだ食事とは違うわけですが、子供が喜ぶケチャップやソーセージを混ぜた、チーズたっぷりな西洋のスパゲッティを食べて、私は幼少期を思い出し、ノスタルジックな気持ちになって自然と笑みがこぼれてきました。
Besides this menu item with the fun name, the UA bar offers a wide variety of food and beverages for customers to enjoy, in a relaxing atmosphere, after a day of competitive shopping. I recommend the signature cocktails or a well balanced IPA beer. They will sooth your materialised mind.
UA BARにはそのほかにも、たくさんの魅力的なフードやドリンクメニューがあるので、原宿一帯をショッピングしながら歩き疲れたら、とてもいい休憩場所になりますね。また、シグネチャーカクテルやバランスのよい味のIPAビールなども、とてもオススメです。
The next place I visited in Tokyo was Haversack, which reminded me of the gentlemen’s glorious heydays. I will introduce an English speaking guy, Ian, who works as a model for Haversack as well as working in international sales.
