鴨志田さんに教わった、ユナイテッドアローズ 六本木ヒルズ店のその他の見どころ
In the Roppongi United Arrows store, there is a special alteration department for new and old garments alike. A well experienced alteration taylor available to make new garments fit perfectly, or to remodel old garments, is a garment lover’s dream. In Seoul, Korea there are many different types of alteration places, but it is very unusual to see an alteration department within a retail store. I had a chance to meet and have a short interview with the artisan in this department and could feel their self confidence and sense of place.
ユナイテッドアローズ 六本木ヒルズ店には、購入した服や着ていた服をリフォームしてくれるスペースが別に設けられています。熟練の職人さんが、ここで購入した服を完璧なフィッティングにしてくれたり、また古い服をお直ししたり、リモデルしてくれるんです。韓国にも、こうした洋服のリフォーム専門店がありますが、このように洋服の実店舗の中にリフォーム店が入っているのはなかなかないですね。中で働く職人さんにも少し話しを聞いて、彼らの自分たちの腕前の自信と、服をパーフェクトにすることへの喜びを感じ取れました。
While visiting the UA stores, headquarters and buying offices, I felt that the brand reflected each member’s character, like an arrow, and bound them together as united arrows.
私が普段UAの店舗や本社を訪問した時に感じたのは、メンバーたちの個性です。それは、「United Arrows」の名前の意味をそのまま反映しています。個々の個性が「矢」とすれば、それが１つに束ねられたときに大きな力を生む、それがUnited Arrowsなんだと思います。
United Arrows has always been interested in enhancing Japan’s traditional culture by offering kimono in its retail stores while collaborating with modern domestic and foreign brands. Another example of UA’s interest in Japanese tradition in evident in the Roppongi store, where it offers the brand Junrian. Many foreigners are charmed by the beauty of Japanese artisanal goods, and more so if the art is a true Junrian. Junrian’s modern garments are made of luxurious fabric used for making kimono. There are also many other small items offered that are very attractive.
また六本木ヒルズ店にも、日本の伝統文化を大切にするユナイテッドアローズの創業者の思いがこもった「順理庵」というスペースがあります。そこには着物地を使ったラグジュアリーなジャケットや、その他のとても魅力的な小物たちがありました。 海外から来たお客さんの多くは、こうした日本の伝統的アイテムの美しさに惹かれ、「順理庵」は意味を持つことにもなります。
