透明なケース越しに見渡せる独自開発の共振システム
アーミン・シュトロームの歴史は2006年、スケルトン時計に特化した同名の時計師の事業を受け継いだことに始まる。ʼ08年に自社工房を開設し、翌年には自社製ムーブメントを開発。そしてʼ16年、2つのレギュレーター（調速機）を共振させる独自のレゾナンス機構を生み出した。近年はこの“レゾナンス”がブランドにとってのキーワードとなっている。
レゾナンスとは、近接した2つの振動体が互いに影響を及ぼし合い、最終的に同期すること。具体的にどのようなものかを説明すると、テンプを含む2つの調速機を天使の羽のような形をしたレゾナンス・クラッチ・スプリングでつなぎ、互いにシンクロさせる。これにより安定したテンプの振動を維持するだけでなく、エネルギーを節約し、テンプへの衝撃による悪影響を低減させるなど、結果的に時計の精度アップに貢献するのである。
このレゾナンス機構を採用した「デュアルタイム・レゾナンス」では、2つの独立した手巻きムーブメントを搭載。それらの調速機が文字盤側に並列にセットされ、先述したレゾナンス・クラッチ・スプリングによって連携している様子を、スケルトン化されたサファイアクリスタルケースを通して見ることができる。
また、その下にはムーブメントのＷ搭載により完全に独立した2つの時刻表示を備える。中間に備わるデイ/ナイト仕様の24時間表示とも連動して、2つのタイムゾーンを表示することはもちろん、レゾナンス機構がもたらす効果で計時精度を相互に向上させる。さらに、デュアルタイムの各ダイヤルにはパワーリザーブ表示も2つ装備。これも各々が独立したムーブメントで動作している証である。
2つのムーブメントを共振させて精度を高めるレゾナンス機構と、それを最大限に利用したデュアルタイム。この独創的機構を目で見て楽しめるのも、創始者のスタイルを継ぐスケルトン仕様のサファイアクリスタルケースあってのことだ。
