2つの秒積算計針の動きまで完璧なる美しさを求める
パテック フィリップは2009年、手巻き+コラムホイール+水平クラッチというクロノグラフの古典的高級機を自社製でかなえた。クロノグラフのスタート時に針飛びしづらい新たな歯型を考案。また瞬時運針式の30分積算計は、秒積算計の動きでゼンマイ状のバネに力を蓄え、それを開放する力で針を動かす仕組みにするなど、革新的な設計が名門らしい。
誕生の翌年には、永久カレンダーを統合。2012年には、この完全自社製クロノグラフ・永久カレンダーにスプリット秒針クロノグラフのモジュールを追加してみせた。そのモジュールも、新開発である。まず革新的なのは、スプリット秒針を停止させた際、その駆動車を、クロノグラフ秒針車とともに回転し続けるスプリット秒針ハートカムから引き離し、テンプの振り角への悪影響をなくすスプリット秒針レバー・アイソレート（隔離）機構だ。スプリット秒針車とハートカムとの隔離・圧着を担う、新たなレバーシステムを開発したのだ。これにより従来は駆動車上にあった圧着用の押さえバネを、コラムホイール上に設置できるようになり、モジュールの厚みが抑えられた。
この新システムにより、ハートカムから離されたスプリット秒針車上には、先端にルビーをもつレバーが備わった。再スタートさせるとクロノグラフ秒針車とともに回転し続けていたスプリット秒針ハートカムに沿ってルビーが回転し、カムの凹部にハマって停止してスプリットとクロノグラフの各秒針が重なる。この機構は既存のモジュールにもあるが、レバー終端を拡張してルビーから二方向に突き出す平面部を新たに設けた。この平面部はルビーが凹部にはまった際にハートカムに接触し、従来あった遊びを解消。クロノグラフ秒針とスプリット秒針の完全な重なりを、実現した。パテック フィリップは、スプリット秒針クロノグラフの2本の針の動きにさえも、完璧な美しさを追求する。

Point 1
クロノグラフの古典的高級機を自社製で
ベースとなったCal.CH 29-3-535 PSは、パテック フィリップ自社製初の水平クラッチ式クロノグラフ。クラッチは、見た目も美しいキャリングアーム式。メゾン伝統のコラムホイール・カバーは、クロノ機構の噛み合わせ量が調整できる偏心機構を、新たに備える。
Point 2
瞬時運針式の30分積算計
歯車を組み合わせた従来の分積算計に代え、クロノグラフ秒針車に設置した分積算カムの動きをレバーで分積算車に伝達する設計に。レバーには、分積算カムの回転で力を蓄えるゼンマイ状のバネが備わる。カムが1周するとレバーが動き、バネの力で駆動車を進める。
Point 3
スプリット秒針レバー・アイソレート
クロノ作動中にリューズ同軸のボタンを押すと、スプリット秒針車を両サイドからクランプが挟んで停止させる。同時にその間にあるレバーの三つ又部が駆動車を押し上げて、スプリット秒針ハートカムから隔離。コラムホイール上には、レバー用のバネが重なる。
